Soil quality study for the re-meandering of the Eau Blanche

A quick detour to Boussu-en-Fagne reveals a project that gives nature centre stage: the re-meandering of a section of the Eau Blanche watercourse.
The mission: restoring the meanders of the Eau Blanche
The Eau Blanche, a first-category watercourse winding through a meadow near a nature reserve, is being returned to its original form: a beautifully meandering river, as nature intended. The re-meandering project covers approximately 2 kilometres of the watercourse. More than 22,500 m³ of soil must be excavated at depths ranging from 2 to 3 metres.
Context and objectives
This project aims to restore approximately 2 kilometres of the Eau Blanche, a first-category watercourse located in a meadow near a nature reserve. The works involve the excavation of 22,500 m³ of soil at a depth of 2 to 3 metres.
Our mission
The non-profit organisation Natagora called upon ABV Development to produce the Soil Quality Report #SQR required for the removal of the excavated soil.
Our services included:
- Administrative preparation of the investigations.
- Sample collection via a registered sampler.
- Analysis of samples by an accredited laboratory.
- Comparison of results against legal standards.
- Drafting of the SQR to obtain the Soil Quality Control Certificate (SQCC) issued by the non-profit Walterre.
