The European Union has implemented a vast network of ecological sites, Natura 2000, to preserve natural heritage, maintain biodiversity, and contribute to its strengthening.

These sites, identified for their exceptional natural character, benefit from enhanced protection measures stemming from two European directives: the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive. Any project near these areas is subject to an appropriate impact assessment.

ABV Development assists project owners in carrying out this assessment and in the procedures with regional authorities.

A binding European and regional legal framework

An appropriate assessment is required as soon as a project risks compromising the site's conservation objectives, whether or not it is subject to urban planning permission. It must be attached to the environmental permit application or single permit application, to the impact assessment notices, and to the impact studies.
