The BiodiverCity® label evaluates and promotes construction and development projects that contribute to enhancing biodiversity in urban environments.

Created in 2013 by the International Council for Biodiversity & Real Estate (CIBI-IBPC), the BiodiverCity® label supports construction, renovation, and development projects that are committed to preserving and enhancing urban biodiversity.

In Belgium, ABV Development is the only consulting firm approved by CIBI. Several team members are accredited as BiodiverCity® ecological assessors and support project owners from the design phase.

A certification complementing international standards

BiodiverCity® certifications complement international standards such as BREEAM®, LEED®, and HQE™, which integrate biodiversity without providing an in-depth assessment. They help to better highlight the initiative and efforts undertaken within a project to ensure a high quality of life and minimize impacts on biodiversity.

These certifications are aimed at all urban stakeholders involved in transforming, renovating, constructing, or operating real estate assets, including residential and commercial projects, public buildings, retail sites, industrial or logistics facilities, and urban developments.
