The adventures of Gourdy, the clever reusable bottle

AdminAdmin

What a summer! After following ABV employees on construction sites and in factories all year round, it was time for me to take a few vacations. And what a vacation!

My vacation starts with superb concerts at the Ronquières Festival! It's great, but loud!

Fortunately, I did not forget my earplugs because I learned, by dint of following the engineers at ABV during the noise studies carried out as part of impact studies, that decibels can have an impact on my little plastic ears!

Time for me to pack my bags and off I went for a motorcycle ride in the Belgian Ardennes.

A little over 500 km of asphalt in the middle of the countryside and wooded roads of our dear country.

On this subject, did you know that ABV is physically present in the Ardennes? In fact, we have a Antenna in Libramont !

Then, off to Marne-la-Vallée for a weekend at Disneyland Paris!

The sumptuous residence of Mickey and his friends was probably a headache for the engineers tasked with studying the impact on traffic.

I am sure that the ABV team, which makes mobility studies, would have loved to take care of this project!

After this magical weekend, head to Fontainbleau for my introduction to climbing!

I admit, it was difficult, I fell sometimes. Luckily, I am not a stoneware jug and I got up every time.

And then, I was accompanied by my colleague from ABV, who was used to climbing the insurmountable for bring its clients' projects to completion!

I stay in the heights and I am heading for Les Vosges! Hard to believe that these magnificent landscapes were hit hard by the radioactive rains following the Chernobyl disaster.

ABV tries to prevent these types of industrial accidents by offering its services IED, REACH and SEVESO studies. Fortunately, this did not affect the legendary hospitality of the Vosgians in any way!

A short detour to Switzerland, to Lake Moiry. A fjord surrounded by mountains and mountain pastures, this dam is a marvel. And the water is so turquoise that the colors in my bottle seem very pale to me!

And the waters know us! At ABV, we also make hydrogeological and hydrological studies, storm water management and infiltration tests!

It is already time to leave for Annecy, a city in the Alps in south-eastern France. This city is magnificent!

The old town with its paved streets, its sinuous canals, its pastel-colored houses and the medieval castle overlooking it are witnesses to the historical wealth of Annecy!

And I have control of the story! With ABV, we very often make site histories as part of soil studies !

Enough contemplation, I continue my journey and I stop a few kilometers further, in Savoy. Again, the landscapes are breathtaking. And the food is exquisite! Charcuterie, fondue, tartiflette... enough to regain strength before continuing my trip!

But before leaving, I decided to visit the Reblochon factory, THE local specialty. Very beautiful factory, which reminds me of some in Belgium, specialized in agri-food and which were accompanied by ABV for obtaining their license to operate !

I stay in the mountains while continuing to the South, direction Ailefirm in the Vallouise Valley, in the heart of Les Ecrins.

It is the 2nd mountaineering spot in France, I did well to take courses earlier in my trip! Ailefirm is also a hamlet sheltered from all external influences, a place of silence and peace.

A dream place to focus on writing your environmental impact study!

Then, a few fathoms in Lac Sainte-Anne, in the Hautes Alpes. Time also to take a big breath of fresh air in this small paradise, located in the Queyras Regional Natural Park.

It will strengthen my body to continue on my journey!

Speaking of strengthening, know that you too can strengthen the ABV team by applying directly on the “job” section of our website: https://www.abv-development.com/offres-d-emploi/ !

Direction Mons a few hundred kilometers away! No, not Mons in Belgium, where In fact, ABV has a physical office, but Mons in the Var!

There, I am hosted by Madame Dusse, an old friend who set up her brewery in the area.

As they say in the world of containers: she has a bottle! See you soon, Madame Dusse!

I'm leaving sourdough for Lérins! Short kayaking session around the Lérins Islands, near Cannes.

The particularity of this archipelago, apart from its beauty, of course, is its symmetry. Indeed, the archipelago consists of 2 identical islands separated by the Frioul Canal.

Symmetric and complementary, just as are environment and development, ABV's workhorses!

After a few thousand oars, here I am in Saint-Tropez! With this stopover in Savoy I no longer dare to wear a bikini, I should not have succumbed to all these specialties! Too bad, life is too boring to worry about your figure!

I enjoy the sun and the fine sand. Ahhh, this sand so fine... I can't help but think that if Belgian soil consisted of this sand, drilling would be much easier!

A plus for soil studies and remediations made by ABV!

Reaching Gordes, Gourdy the Gourde playfully sprung his guiboles by frolicking on the pebbles along the gargantuan and galvanizing chasm.

“Beware of the bowl, a slide is highly conceivable,” she growled.

But Gourdy was careful and went back on his way for the rest of his ring.

Truce of galéjade, ABV guarantees guide your project diligently until you win your Grail!

A few kilometers further and I arrive at Pont du Gard. 3-level bridge intended for the passage of a Roman aqueduct.

It's crazy to think that this prestigious relic was built around 50 AD and is the highest Roman aqueduct in the world. It operated for over 500 years with a flow of 35,000 mÂł per day! Real great engineers, these Romans!

And as we already said at the time:”ABV Caesar, the projects that are about to come to fruition welcome you!”.

... Finally, something like that!

Let's go to the West Coast!

Here I am at the Dune du Pilat, the highest dune in Europe! The height makes me dizzy, I have a spinning cork.

Pilat is also a very fragile natural area and is the subject of a preservation and development program carried out by public actors.

This is not where ABV can help you develop your residential project, but we may see it end up elsewhere!

I'm going north again, towards the island of Ouessant! Island located in the west of Brittany, in the Celtic Sea.

This island is also called the “Island of Lighthouses” because it is surrounded by 5 lighthouses, including 2 at sea. A magnificent night show, which I can only recommend to everyone!

It also has the most powerful lighthouse in Europe, which is called the Creac'h lighthouse but which I could not help but rename “the ABV lighthouse” because it is The light that lights you up and guides you in the dark!

I continue north, to Cap Fréhel!

Cape Town, with the magnificent views offered by its 70-meter-high schist and pink sandstone cliffs, marked by different strata, is an essential place for expert geologists who make up our team.

The team did not lie to me, it's splendid, I did well to listen to them!

Then, a short boat trip to the Chausey Islands!

This Norman archipelago, made up of twenty islands and a hundred islets, is assigned to the Coastal Conservatory and is an ornithological reserve.

This speaks to me a lot, because I am used to following ABV employees in their Natura 2000 studies and their missions ofinventory of protected species.

I'm on my way back to the North!

It's funny...

At ABV, we are used to being the oxygen bottle for our customers, who need to breathe and therefore entrust us with missions ofOutsourcing in order to manage their various environmental aspects.

Today, it is my turn to need this oxygen to dive into the magnificent waters of Dreischor!

I take the plane again, direction Austvågøya, island in the Lofoten Islands archipelago, in Norway.

There I am attending one of the most wonderful shows I have ever seen: the Northern Lights. A natural phenomenon well known today, it has often been the object of interpretation, myths and legends in the past.

What is not a myth on the other hand is the trust that our customers have placed in us for years. You can also read what they think of us in the “They trust us” section of our website!

I am staying in Norway, and still on the Lofoten Islands! Mountains, glaciers, and deep coastal fjords... it's all there, even the rainbows!

Faced with this splendid landscape and this still wild nature, I am really aware of the importance of ABV's mission and of our responsibility in the face of global warming during our impact studies and climate change.

It is now time for me to put an end to this fabulous journey and to be reunited with my wonderful team.

All the stages of this adventure made me aware of the importance of the various missions that we carry out on a daily basis at ABV and how lucky I am to be able to support our customers in making their projects successful while respecting nature and combining development and the environment.

Do not hesitate to contact us for more information on our services and, as we say:”Your project must succeed!”
